Summary of the Job:

FNBO is building the next generation of internal platforms that will power how our teams work-and we're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to be part of that journey.

This role is ideal for an experienced developer who loves building modern, scalable applications and is excited to grow their skills in emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions. You'll work across the stack, developing polished user experiences with React and building backend services that support an internal platform designed to evolve alongside new capabilities.

You do not need to be an AI expert to succeed here. We're looking for strong engineers with solid fundamentals, curiosity, and a desire to learn.

This is a hybrid, in-person role based in Omaha.

About This Role:

This role offers hands-on exposure to AI-enabled platforms and emerging technologies-prior AI experience not required.

You'll join a collaborative engineering team focused on innovation, learning, and practical impact. Our work supports real business outcomes inside a stable, well-respected financial institution-giving you the chance to experiment, grow, and build things that matter.

We invest in our people, encourage exploration of new technologies, and value thoughtful engineering over hype. If you're excited about where software development is headed and want hands-on exposure to modern platforms and AI-adjacent work, this is a great place to do it.

What You'll Do:
  • Design and build high-performance, responsive user interfaces using React

  • Develop and maintain backend services using cloud-native and serverless technologies

  • Contribute to the evolution of an internal platform that supports intelligent and automated capabilities

  • Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering partners to deliver end-to-end solutions

  • Help define development standards, patterns, and best practices for the platform

  • Participate in code reviews with a focus on quality, scalability, and maintainability

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex features

  • Partner with Architecture to refine technical designs and platform direction

  • Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement efforts

This role is hybrid ONSITE in Omaha, NE.

Sponsorship is not available.

Salary range up to 130k with bonus potential

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

What We're Looking For
  • Strong experience as a software engineer or full-stack developer

  • Experience building and supporting backend services and APIs

  • Comfort working in cloud-based environments and learning new tools quickly

  • Solid engineering fundamentals: clean code, testing, performance, and security awareness

  • Curiosity and interest in emerging technologies (AI experience is a plus, not a requirement)

  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor and learn from others

Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Exposure to AI-enabled features, automation, or data-driven systems

  • Experience with serverless architectures or cloud platforms

  • Financial services or regulated environment experience

Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
