Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Finance Special Projects provides strategic leadership and oversight for complex financial initiatives across the organization. This role collaborates with Revenue Cycle, Business Office, Decision Support, and other corporate departments to ensure accurate valuation of patient accounts receivables and credit balances for all hospitals and physician groups. The Associate Director drives the development, enhancement, and enterprise-wide standardization of AR valuation models and processes, ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with GAAP.

This position leads high-impact projects, including financial audits, reporting enhancements, and process improvement initiatives, while managing relationships with hospital CFOs, Controllers, and external auditors. The Associate Director is responsible for guiding analysts and managers in preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, coordinating external audit activities, and ensuring timely and reliable financial disclosures. As a senior leader, the Associate Director champions transformation and continuous improvement, leveraging data analytics to optimize patient revenue and supporting strategic decision-making. The role also partners with Legal and Contracting teams on reimbursement rate calculations and negotiations, and oversees the creation of policies, training materials, and governance frameworks to strengthen financial operations.



Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting.
  1. Eight or more (8+) years of revenue cycle analytical experience with hospital systems. Inclusive of aforementioned length of experience, three or more (3+) years of experience as a lead or manager.
  2. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and ability to prepare financial statements and models.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex analytical topics to a wide audience. Ability to collaborate across related organizations and departments.

  5. Contract negotiation experience and experience with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and performance metrics, financial systems and processes. Demonstrated ability to direct process improvement initiatives with successful results.
  6. Excel skills (v-lookups, sumif, sumproduct, indirect, etc.)

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Knowledge with Lawson system and ERP systems (i.e., EPIC/Meditech)
  2. Proficient in business software applications, i.e., Microsoft Excel, Word, SQL, Access, and PowerBI.
  3. Excellent understanding of financial system integration, master database management, data mining and reporting, etc.
  4. Certified Public Accountant, MBA or Master's Degree
  5. PMP certification not required but preferred.


Pay Transparency

Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $99,840.00 to $133,848.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
