Job Description




As a Security Officer - Gated Community Patrol Driver in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a residential community. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist residents and visitors with a professional, customer-focused approach. This is a driving post, so you will use a company-approved vehicle to cover the property, monitor access points, and communicate clearly with your team while living our values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or vendors by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a residential location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access issues, noise complaints, and/or disputes while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of common areas, hallways, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or property damage.
  • Monitor entry points, gates, and/or secured areas, verifying credentials and/or resident authorization as required by post orders, and report suspicious activity according to site procedures.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and/or maintenance concerns in written reports, and communicate timely updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
