Job Description




As a Security Officer - Bank Access Desk in Tempe, AZ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a financial institution location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor logs, and support a professional lobby presence. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to alarms and concerns, and provide clear, courteous communication to employees and guests. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a financial services location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, confirming authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and directing guests to the appropriate areas.
  • Operate access control systems, visitor management logs, and badge processes to support controlled entry for employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Screen and coordinate vendor and contractor arrivals, including confirming work orders and required approvals prior to granting access.
  • Monitor alarms, doors, cameras, and other security-related systems as assigned, escalating irregular activity through established reporting channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from Allied Universal supervision and/or local emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Complete detailed reports regarding shift activity, access control events, and unusual incidents, and communicate key information during shift turnovers.
  • Support internal staff and visitors with directions and general assistance while maintaining a professional presence and following location-specific confidentiality expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
