As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support smooth operations by screening employees and visitors, checking credentials, and maintaining accurate access logs. You will remain a visible presence at entry points, communicate clearly with site teams, and complete routine security-related checks while delivering customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct entry and exit screening for employees, drivers, vendors, and visitors in accordance with location procedures, including verifying identification, credentials, and appointment and/or delivery information.
  • Monitor screening equipment and screening lanes, direct foot traffic, and maintain orderly queue flow while answering questions and providing clear instructions.
  • Perform package, bag, and property inspections as required by location policy, documenting prohibited items and coordinating next steps with site leadership.
  • Support access control by issuing temporary badges as authorized, tracking visitor logs, and confirming authorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, disturbances, and policy violations, and notify site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, policy noncompliance, and potential hazards, helping to deter theft and/or unauthorized access in high-volume shipping and receiving areas.
  • Communicate via radio, phone, and written logs to document routine activity, screening results, and incident details in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with dock personnel and transportation partners to verify driver check-in and/or check-out, staging instructions, and controlled access to the facility.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
