Security Officer - Shopping Center Patrol

As a Security Officer - Shopping Center Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a high-energy retail and entertainment location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visibly present to help deter security-related incidents, and assist guests and team members with clear, professional communication. You will support a welcoming environment while documenting observations and responding to concerns as needed. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and entertainment location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, medical calls, and/or alarms, and escalate to local emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance issues.
• Monitor access points and high-traffic areas, observe for suspicious behavior, and support crowd management during peak business hours and special events.
• Complete shift logs and incident reports, communicate clearly with site management and/or law enforcement, and follow chain-of-command and post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer Service Experience - preferred.
• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet - preferred.
• Guard Card/License - preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
