As a Security Officer - Federal Building Screening in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal supporting a government location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, managing visitor sign-in and/or credential issuance, and directing individuals to appropriate areas per site procedures.
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and/or access control systems, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and requesting assistance from appropriate public agencies when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, noting and reporting unusual conditions, unsecured doors, and/or hazards.
- Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities, and maintain required logs and records in a timely manner.
- Assist with crowd management and orderly movement of people during peak times, public meetings, and/or special events as directed by site procedures.
- Support emergency response actions such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, and/or medical response coordination based on training and site requirements.
- Provide directions and general assistance to the public while maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to confidentiality expectations.
- Communicate clearly with site contacts, Allied Universal leadership, and responding personnel using radios, phones, and/or other approved communication methods.
- Follow chain-of-command and comply with all post orders, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies while performing assigned duties.
Minimum Requirements: - Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
