As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a dynamic riverside public space supporting utility and cultural locations, you will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors with clear directions and courteous communication. You will observe and report unusual activity, support special events and daily operations, and work as part of an agile, reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at park, public space, and adjacent utility infrastructure locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, suspicious activity, lost persons, and public assistance requests.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of open areas, pathways, parking areas, building exteriors, utility perimeters, and other assigned zones to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor for and report hazards, damage, trespassing, vandalism, and unauthorized access to restricted areas, and notify Allied Universal supervision and/or site contacts as required.
  • Control access to restricted or staff-only areas by checking identification, verifying authorization, and directing visitors and contractors to appropriate entry points.
  • Provide high-visibility presence during events and peak hours, assist with crowd movement, and support orderly entry and exit in coordination with site staff and local responders when needed.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports with accurate details and timely submissions using required systems and/or paper forms.
  • Observe and report suspicious behavior and potential policy violations, and escalate concerns through the chain of command.
  • Operate security-related equipment such as radios, flashlights, and access devices, and perform basic function checks per post orders.
  • Assist with parking and traffic direction when assigned, and support pedestrian flow around high-traffic areas.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including contacting emergency services, providing scene control until responders arrive, and assisting with evacuation and/or shelter-in-place procedures when applicable.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, communicate clearly with the public and site personnel, and follow all Allied Universal policies, post orders, and instructions from supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
