You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, manage access points as needed, and assist visitors and staff with professional service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, fire alarms, disturbances, and unusual activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor and control access through designated entrances, verifying identification, directing visitors to sign-in procedures, and/or issuing visitor credentials in accordance with site policy.
  • Observe and report suspicious behavior, damaged property, open doors, and other irregular conditions; document findings in daily activity reports and incident reports.
  • Communicate with site personnel and Allied Universal supervision using radios, phones, and/or electronic reporting systems; relay clear information and request assistance when needed.
  • Support crowd management and orderly public interaction during meetings, hearings, and/or high-traffic periods by providing directions and maintaining professional presence.
  • Perform checks of doors, gates, elevators, stairwells, and other key areas during patrol; report maintenance issues and/or hazards through established channels.
  • Follow post orders and government facility rules regarding restricted areas, prohibited items, and privacy requirements; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Participate in required training and briefings, and complete assigned administrative tasks such as log entries, key control documentation, and shift turnover communication.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Be 21+ years of age.
  • - Have 2+ years' law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience.
  • - Customer service experience is preferred.
  • - Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • - Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
