Job Description




As a Security Officer - Building Patrol Officer in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at government locations by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for any unusual circumstances.
  • Monitor access points and assist with controlling entry and exit to help to deter prohibited items or individuals.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual activity according to site protocols.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and site personnel as needed during emergencies or incidents.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and promote a secure environment for staff and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
