Position Summary The purpose of the Welding Intern position is to support fabrication and welding operations while developing hands-on skills under the supervision of certified welders. The intern will assist with material preparation, basic welding tasks, and shop organization while learning proper welding techniques, safety practices, and industry standards. LOCATION * Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position. Duties And Responsibilities WELD PREPARATION * Perform laser engraving of parts as required. DOCUMENTATION * Complete basic data entry and recordkeeping using Microsoft Excel and Word. WELDER SUPPORT * Assist welders by prepping joints and cleaning welds. TRAINING & SKILL DEVELOPMENT * Receive training in automated welding processes, including orbital welding and CNC welding systems. ADDITIONAL * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications REQUIRED * Basic computer skills. DESIRED * Basic welding knowledge. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS * Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals. Additional Information WORKING CONDITIONS This position is considered SHOP/INDOOR WORK which is characterized as follows. * Primarily indoors during the day.
