As a Sr. NOP Analytics Consultant, you'll lead complex analytical initiatives and develop innovative solutions that improve the efficiency, reliability, and performance of Southwest's operational network. You'll partner across Operations, Commercial, and Finance to deliver data-driven insights and modeling that enhance decision-making, reduce cost and complexity, and optimize resource utilization. This role plays a key part in shaping and executing operational planning and analytics projects from opportunity identification and problem framing through model design, testing, and implementation, translating operational challenges into actionable recommendations that advance strategic objectives. Responsibilities
Provide advanced analytical expertise to support key NOC initiatives Support the NOC Analytics Architect with maintenance of existing and development of new NOC Analytical Tools that support our operation Perform descriptive and diagnostic analysis of operational events on an ad hoc basis while simultaneously carrying out primary job functions Facilitate strategic discussions with Leaders and project Stakeholders Formulate and communicate options and solutions for highly complex problems Align multiple parties with conflicting and diverse viewpoints on direction for specific initiatives Deliver plans, business cases and presentations for specific initiatives and broader vision tailored to different audiences Identify overlapping work, dependencies and competing interests Manage progress of projects, programs, and portfolios Effectively manages and prioritizes multiple projects simultaneously Provide guidance to Peers, less experienced Business Consultants, and other Team Members to transfer knowledge and support their development May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred: Skilled in data extraction, transformation, and analysis using SQL-based environments such as Amazon Redshift Preferred: Experience developing automated workflows and repeatable analytics solutions in Alteryx or similar ETL tools. Preferred: Proficiency in data visualization and storytelling through Tableau and Power BI, including dashboard design, data blending, and KPI reporting Preferred: Familiarity with programming concepts in Python or R for applied analytics and model development Knowledge of technology systems and related theory, practice and concepts Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan Ability to understand and apply information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Employees up to and including Executive levels and translate deep and complex technical concepts to Stakeholders Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Ability to prioritize tasks to meet department objectives and goals Ability to drive cross departmental work and analysis
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Business or a related field
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $122,200 per year to $135,800 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
