Position Summary
A GRADUATE HOURLY position is available in the Office of Educational Affairs in the College of Medicine beginning immediately. The candidate must be available for 10-20 hours a week during regular office hours and be available to work during the summer. The schedule of hours may vary by term according to the candidate's school schedule.

The graduate assistant in this position reports to the Director of Assessment & Evaluation in the College of Medicine Office of Educational Affairs. The graduate assistant works closely with members of the Medical Education Data Group, which is responsible for all assessments of the medical students and evaluations of the medical education program. In addition, the graduate assistant will be a key contributor to implementing and ensuring compliance of data management procedures.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • 1. Clean, merge, and aggregate educational data from multiple internal and external sources for student assessment, program evaluation, continuous quality improvement, accreditation reporting, and research.
  • 2. Work closely with team leaders to assist in developing, documenting, updating, and maintaining analytic data files and databases;
  • 3. Provide analytical and statistical support for data reporting, program evaluation, and various research projects;
  • 4. Assure accuracy and completeness of analytic results in reports, files and databases;
  • 5. Contributes to and maintains written documentation on data-related processes.
  • 6. Assist with regular office duties, such as making copies, sending emails, creating meeting notes and organizing food and space for workshops.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    1. Strong analytic skills, with a high level of critical thinking skills, quantitative skills and logical reasoning ability;
    2. Proficiency in a subset of the following: R, Stata, PowerBI, and/or Tableau;
    3. Strong knowledge of statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing such as ANOVAs, chi-squared, regression);
    4. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously;
    5. Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and communication skills;
    6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, OneDrive, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Google Drive (Google Sheets);
    7. Experience with reproducible workflows and version control (e.g., git);
    8. Experience with education research and psychometrics is preferred but not a requirement for this position.
