What It's Like: We're seeking a Software Engineer intern to join our dynamic Device Insurance Technology group to work on a green field IT modernization project to build and maintain high quality, reliable and scalable systems, platforms and tools supporting the Device Insurance products and lifecycle. The ideal candidate will work closely with a Sr. Software Engineer to develop and deploy scalable microservices, on a Kubernetes container cloud infrastructure on AWS as well as work closely with T-Mobile insurance vendor on building a tightly integrated end-to-end solution. What You'll Do: The software engineer intern will learn about the Kyber Arch platform, architecture, tools and work on the enhancing/optimizing existing Kyber Arch microservices as well as new build. They will participate in projects under the guidance of Sr. Software Engineer to use AI in day-to-day development activities to increase team productivity and enable faster delivery. Impact - They will contribute to the migration and new build of Kyber Arch platform. Key Responsibilities: 1. Learn and develop Spring Boot microservices for the Kyber Arch platform. 2. Develop and execute unit tests. 3. Participate in solving challenging problems either with products or development infrastructure. What It Takes: 1. Enrolled in Computer Science/ MIS/IT or related majors. 2. Hands-on experience in Object oriented programming and databases/SQL as part of course work or outside. 3. Hands-on experience with using AI tools such as Claude code or similar, a plus. 4. Experience with AWS/Azure, a plus. 5. Appetite to learn and solve problems. At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States High School Diploma or GED Must be actively enrolled in a degree program or graduated with the last year Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Internship Employers does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students of F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education. Relocation reimbursement may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location. Intern wages range from $26/hour to $47/hour. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on experience/location. Never stop growing!
