Scale House Attendant/Spotter ( Miami TS)

Waste Connections has an immediate opening for an experienced Scale House Attendant/Spotter to join the team at our location in Miami TS, Miami, FL. Previous waste experience would be a huge plus!

Monday-Saturday starting time is based on one of the four shifts beginning at 4 a.m. up to 8:30 p.m. This position includes weekend work & Holidays.

The shifts are typically 8-9 hours Monday-Friday

Saturdays between 6 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Pay rate $19.50 per hour DOE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.

o Track weight information from scale to computer system and get appropriate signatures.

o Calculate payments for customers.

o Ensure incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.

o Approach all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

o Spotting Trucks/outside for a good portion of the day

o Traffic Control-work with other employees to maintain a smooth traffic flow allowing our customers to enter the facility and leave in a timely manner

o Cleaning Equipment

o Picking up litter

o Must be able lift 50lbs or greater

o Geneal site cleanup

o Performing other assigned duties as the site

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

o Excellent customer service skills.

o Willing to travel between Dade and Broward County to help at other Waste Connections Transfer Stations if needed

o Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.

o Must have flexible availability to include weekends & Holidays.
