Sr. Lab Technician

Location: Pasadena, TX

Pay: $32 hr. to $34.50 hr.

Contract: 9 months (could extend)

Qualifications:

Experienced in operating chemical units in lab, pilot, or production scale, or received training in a chemical process technology program. Process ability to assemble or modify lab/pilot scale process units by using tubing and fittings, glassware, etc. Able to install and use instruments to measure temperature, pressure, flow rate, and level, etc. Able to install and use lab scale pumps, valves, pressure regulators, etc. Able to use analytical instruments such as GC, titrators, spectrometers, etc. Demonstrated high attention to detail and great record keeping. Process good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting/root-cause analysis skills. High school graduate or equivalent. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities:

The overall goal is to improve manufacturing processes by using scientific methods. Responsibilities include building laboratory and/or pilot scale process units, operating and troubleshooting them, analyzing sample compositions, and recording observations and results. Unit examples include reactors, distillation columns, absorbers, etc.
