Summary: Responsible for coordinating and administering professional liability claims. Manages the claim handling process for both pre-litigation and litigation matters, as well as ancillary proceedings such as licensing board complaints and deposition assistance. Maintains information in both legacy and new systems, aligning with leadership's vision for the future. Identifies, locates, processes, and routes information to the appropriate parties. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Responsibilities: 1. Evaluates incidents submitted by Risk Management to identify potentially compensable events. Ensures timely reporting of incidents to the appropriate insurance carrier(s) when policy criteria are met. 2. Follows-up with involved individuals to gather additional information, confirm details or clarify specific incident facts. Ensures the accuracy, sufficiency and quality of all relevant data 3. Coordinates the collection and provision of responses to discovery requests and other information to legal counsel and insurance carriers. Gathers items such as medical records, radiology images, patient bills, organizational policies as needed. 4. Obtains monthly loss run reports from carriers, maintains current reserve report to include tracking deductibles and claim status 5. Prepares and presents detailed reports on the status and progress of claims. Generates ad hoc reports as requested. 6. Ensures all claims-related documentation is complete, accurate and up-to-date. 7. Maintains communication with teammates and vendors to assure timely and efficient completion of claims, proper communication of issues, and proper documentation. 8. Performs special projects that involve data gathering, analysis, research, preparation of reports, development of recommendations and presentations as assigned. 9. Maintain claims files with carriers, send preservation notices, submits recalls to the Manage Recall on-line system and provide assistance to FDA inquiries. 10. Facilitates and coordinates logistics for legal counsel such as scheduling meetings, securing conference rooms, coordinating witnesses and gathering appropriate information as needed. 11.
