Responsibilities

  • Conducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software.
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Designs, develops and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
  • Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts.
  • Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 5 - 7 yrs. of experience, a Master's with 3 - 5 yrs. of experience, or a PhD with 0 - 2 yrs. of experience.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain an active Secret Clearance.
  • The Arcfield Optimized Computing Solutions Group is looking for someone with 2+ years of experience in C/C++.
  • Assembly programming (any architecture) experience is preferable but not required.
  • Some knowledge of VHDL and Verilog (or system Verilog) is preferred but not required.
  • Ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with VHDL simulators is a plus but not required.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for developing/updating a hardware simulator in C to match the architecture design from the VHDL and Verilog sources. This position will also require periodically upgrading the toolset chain (compilers, assemblers, linkers, and other third party software). Some application development in both assembly and C/C++ will also be performed.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
