GENERAL FUNCTION

The Manager of EHR & Integrations is responsible for the effective use, optimization, and integration of newly acquired practice systems; including the electronic health record (EHR) and related digital practice tools. This role ensures clinical, operational, and diagnostic systems work seamlessly together to continue to support patient care during integration. The Manager owns EHR configuration, user access and role management, workflow optimization, and integration of clinical equipment and third-party systems, serving as the primary bridge between clinical operations, vendors, and IT.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Serve as the system owner for the optometry EHR and associated digital practice tools of newly acquired practices.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize EHR templates, workflows, order sets, and clinical documentation tools with newy acquired systems.
  • Ensure EHR functionality supports compliant documentation, coding, and billing workflows.
  • Manage integration of diagnostic and clinical equipment (e.g., OCT, fundus cameras, visual field analyzers, autorefractors) with the EHR.
  • Ensure interoperability between EHR, practice management, imaging, optical, billing, and third-party applications.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues in coordination with vendors and IT teams.
  • Validate integrations during new site onboarding, upgrades, and acquisitions.
  • Oversee implementation and use of digital tools including patient portals, online scheduling, eForms, imaging platforms, and clinical decision-support tools.
  • Ensure tools are properly configured, adopted, and supported across practices.
  • Own creation, maintenance, and deactivation of all EHR and digital system user accounts for newly acquired practices
  • Define and manage role-based access controls to ensure appropriate permissions and data security for newly acquired practices
  • Ensure timely provisioning and de-provisioning of access for new hires, role changes, and terminations.
  • Partner with HR and Compliance to align access controls with policies and audits.
  • Drive adoption of standardized workflows while balancing clinical usability.
  • Ensure EHR configuration supports HIPAA, CMS, and payer documentation requirements.
  • Maintain audit-ready access controls, change logs, and system documentation.
  • Support compliance, chart auditing, and billing teams with system configuration and reporting.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • 2+ years of related experience with Practice Management Systems and Tools
  • IT management or development experience
  • Experience in a large corporate enviornment
  • Prior leadership/ management experience
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, listening, persuasive)
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent prioritization skills with a clear focus on results
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team and create a collaborative atmosphere
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 50% some months


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Optometric practice management experience
  • Clinical patient care experience
  • Ophthalmic surgery practice experience
  • Experience in retail optical
