Staff Accountant

A global manufacturing organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate finance team. This is a hybrid position, with three days per week onsite. The environment is fast?paced but balanced, offering flexibility during the workday and a focus on ownership rather than micromanagement.

This role is ideal for someone with at least 1yearof accounting experience who is motivated to learn, contribute to a lean corporate accounting team, and grow into a Senior Accountant role over time.

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will support corporate accounting and reporting activities, including general ledger accounting, month?end close, reconciliations, intercompany accounting, lease accounting (ASC 842), business combinations (ASC 805), and audit support. This position reports to a Senior Accountant and will have frequent exposure to finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities Month-End Close & General Accounting
  • Assist with month-end close, including account reconciliations, accruals, allocations, intercompany entries, and consolidation-related workflows.
  • Prepare monthly variance/flux analysis comparing budget to actuals for assigned entities.
  • Prepare monthly roll-forwards for prepaids, PPE, intangibles, goodwill, and debt.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations related to lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842.
  • Prepare journal entries for business combinations in accordance with ASC 805, including opening balance sheet development.
Reporting & Compliance
  • Assist in preparing monthly management reporting packages for ownership.
  • Support preparation of quarterly debt compliance certifications.
  • Assist with the annual external audit and statutory audit support.
Systems, Integrations & Project Work
  • Support global implementation of a new ERP platform, including standardizing processes and strengthening internal controls.
  • Assist with integration of newly acquired entities into corporate reporting systems.
  • Partner with IT to facilitate ERP connections.
  • Participate in special projects tied to acquisitions, accounting standard updates, and other strategic initiatives.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 1+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to produce accurate results independently.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment where change is expected and embraced.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proactive approach to problem?solving and process improvement.
  • High proficiency with Excel and familiarity with modern ERP/consolidation systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, OneStream, Microsoft Dynamics NAV).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
