As the Director of Health Informatics at GSK, you will drive strategic initiatives leveraging health information technology to optimize care delivery for patients across key GSK therapeutic areas. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Account-Based Solutions & Strategy, Account Managers, Patient Experience, Digital/Tech and Medical & Value & Evidence, you will work to align GSK's HIT capabilities with customer needs and workflows, harnessing technologies such as Electronic Health Records (EHR), Population Health Management (PHM), and Digital Solutions. This role is instrumental in translating healthcare data into actionable insights to improve patient outcomes, streamline clinical workflows, and strengthen GSK's engagement with health systems and organized customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align GSK's HIT capabilities with health system HIT infrastructure to meet strategic goals across GSK's therapeutic areas and optimize care delivery for patients.
  • Identify market shaping opportunities and build new HIT capabilities, tools and solutions to drive improvements in diagnosis, treatment and management for patients in relevant therapeutic areas
  • Build relationships with HIT decision-makers at health systems and organized customers to enhance access to GSK's portfolio and to integrate relevant tools and solutions.
  • Conduct workflow assessments to identify opportunities for customers to improve care delivery-before, during, and after patient visits - across respiratory, oncology and infectious diseases.
  • Leverage appropriate healthcare data to uncover insights and opportunities to improve workflows, operations and outcomes.
  • Work with account-based strategy & solutions, brands, digital/tech, account managers, medical affairs, market access, legal/compliance and operations teams to ensure alignment on HIT opportunities and initiatives
  • Lead efforts to integrate new and existing tools that support the patient journey into customer EHR systems and enable seamless customer use, including but not limited to:
    • Integrating appropriate educational materials into EHR systems
    • Educating customers through a step-by-step process on optimizing EHR functionality for mutual therapeutic areas of interest
    • Assisting account managers with integrating appropriate patient identification, screening and diagnosis tools within their EHR
    • Simplifying tools and integration into the EHR (i.e. transfer paper assets to digital - saving cards, digital marketing tools, etc.)
  • Contribute to the business plans to include opportunity development, strategic account targeting and planning, and developing competitive strategies to successfully meet sales goals.
  • Identify implications, threats, risk and opportunities as a result of the adoption and implementation of health information technology by our customers.
  • Educate internal stakeholders about customers' digital and HIT needs and processes.
  • Provide actionable insights to internal teams, educate stakeholders on emerging HIT trends, and train Account Teams on existing HIT capabilities to enhance customer engagement.
  • Act as a HIT expert to the broader Market Access and GSK business units
Why You?

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 plus years of experience in healthcare OR pharmaceutical industry
  • 3 plus years of experience working in Health Informatics within a patient care environment (hospital, physician practice, etc.) combined with use of clinical workflows, processes and care coordination.
  • Experience with front end use of EHR systems (Athena, Epic, Oracle, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience working with EHR products and vendors
  • Experience with health IT landscape, including the inter-relationships of key players in the healthcare delivery space
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership & key stakeholders
  • Willing to travel 25%

Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Strategic thinking, accountability, self-starter, and results orientation
  • Project management experience
  • Technical certifications (EHR, RHIA/RHIT, HIMSS)
  • High level of emotional intelligence, with strengths in collaboration, interpersonal skills, and client success
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills

The US annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $166,500 to $277,500. The US salary ranges take into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
