About the Role

The Manager, Commercial Performance Analytics is a hands-on analytical leader responsible for developing commercial performance solutions that drive Commercial business strategy. This role blends individual contributor work with people management responsibility. leadership role with dual responsibilities for advanced hands-on technical work and direct people management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain analytical tools that track commercial performance against divisional targets.
  • Develop KPI frameworks and analytical methodologies for evaluating product and commercial performance.
  • Design and execute statistical analyses to measure causal impact of commercial products and programs, utilizing inferential models such as linear and logistic regression.
  • Partner with Enterprise Technology (ET) team on data integration work, including requirements gathering, data validation, and managing ongoing relationships with technical teams.
  • Represent the analytics team in cross-functional discussions to ensure accurate, consistent interpretation of data access Product, Commercial and Finance.
  • Manage and develop analyst(s) as direct report(s), including oversight of project execution, analytical quality, and skill and career development.
  • Help establish and maintain data quality checks and analytic standards across commercial datasets
  • Partner with business and technical teams across the enterprise to gain access to new data sources. Lead the team's efforts to explore, validate, and learn how to utilize these data assets, including claims, underwriting, and sales data.
  • Utilize data visualization best practices to translate analytical results into clear narratives, highlighting trends and actionable insights.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills):

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Epidemiology). Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data analytics, with experience in the healthcare payer industry is strongly preferred.
    • Direct, hands-on experience working with large-scale datasets, with direct experience handling medical and pharmacy claims data strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience delivering complex analytical projects from ideation through implementation.
    • Prior experience in a formal management or senior technical leadership role is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation from enterprise data warehouses.
    • Advanced proficiency in Tableau for data visualization and dashboard development.
    • Advanced proficiency in Python, R or SAS for statistical analysis.
    • Experience in applied statistical modeling, including multivariate regression techniques for the purpose of causal inference and program evaluation.
    • Proficiency with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) is preferred but not required.
  • Business & Interpersonal Skills:
    • Quantitative analysis skills with financial and business performance data.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
    • Ability to verbally and visually translate complex data and analytical results into clear and actionable business insights and strategic recommendations.
    • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and adapting to evolving business priorities.

LocationBoston Time TypeFull time Salary Range: $98,910.00 - $120,890.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
