We are seeking a Regional Volunteer Services Officer for the American Red Cross of the National Capital and Chesapeake Region. Position is hybrid: 3 days in the office / 2 days in the field or work from home. Can work in the Washington, DC or Baltimore office. * This position may be eligible for relocation assistance. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): The Regional Volunteer Services Officer(RVSO) will oversee efforts and activities of volunteer programs and services to ensure availability of sufficient numbers of volunteers to meet operational needs and meet objectives. Strengthens and grows programs and services that will meet the operational needs within resource constraints. The RVSO directs and oversees the work assignments and performance of staff and volunteers. Implements and executes strategy, manages processes, cultivates relationships and ensures coordinated outreach and partnerships within the American Red Cross organization and external constituents. Serves as a subject-matter-expert (SME) for assigned area(s) of responsibility. Specific responsibilities: Lead regional volunteer engagement by connecting communities and partners to meaningful Red Cross service opportunities across disaster response, blood services, and military family programs. Build strong community partnerships, develop volunteer leaders, and foster an inclusive, welcoming volunteer culture. Ensure volunteer readiness through strategic workforce planning and datadriven systems, enabling effective daily operations and largescale disaster response. As a member of the Regional Leadership Team, collaborate with senior leaders and lead a team that integrates volunteer engagement into all aspects of regional strategy and mission delivery. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
* Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted). The salary range for this position is (Washington, DC): $101,400 - $110,798. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
