You Are:

UST is seeking an Lab Support Technician to provide hands-on technical and operational support for lab activities, platform setup, and ongoing validation efforts. This role plays a key part in ensuring lab readiness, supporting engineering teams, and executing platform and infrastructure tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced lab environment.



The opportunity:

* Support platform bring-up, configuration, and teardown activities across multiple lab systems

* Assemble, configure, and disassemble hardware platforms including servers, desktops, and test systems

* Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (Linux, Windows, VMware)

* Perform BIOS, firmware, and driver updates as per engineering instructions

* Troubleshoot first-level hardware and software issues and escalate when required

* Support rack setup, cabling, power connections, and cable management activities

* Maintain lab discipline including cleanliness, safety, ESD compliance, and asset security

* Assist with inventory tracking, asset movement, audits, and documentation updates

* Collect logs, execute basic validation tests, and share results with validation engineers

* Follow standard operating procedures and comply with lab safety and security policies

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:

* Strong understanding of computer hardware and system components

* Working knowledge of Linux and Windows environments

* Experience in lab environments with hands-on hardware handling

* Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, Static IP concepts)

* Ability to work independently with limited supervision

* Good documentation, communication, and coordination skills

* Strong team collaboration and problem-solving mindset Qualifications

* Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field

* 3 - 6 years of experience in lab support, hardware support, or technical operations Work Environment

* Full-time onsite role in a lab environment

* May involve lifting equipment, standing for extended periods, and working around active test hardware
