Overview:

WOOD is seeking an Enterprise Configuration Manager who understands that modern configuration management is no longer static documentation, it is a dynamic discipline embedded within cloud, DevSecOps, and automated enterprise environments.

This role supports enterprise IT environments by strengthening configuration management rigor while modernizing how CM is implemented across large-scale, mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate brings strong foundational CM discipline and understands how digital transformation, automation, and AI-enabled tooling are reshaping how configuration is tracked, governed, and audited in today's environments.

This is not a legacy CM role. We are looking for someone who can bridge traditional configuration management principles with modern deployment practices.

Application Process: Interested candidates should submit their resume detailing their qualifications and experience.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities

Lead and support development, review, and modernization of Configuration Management plans, policies, and procedures within enterprise IT environments

  • Ensure CM practices align with federal compliance frameworks including FISMA and agency security controls

  • Integrate configuration management into cloud-native, DevSecOps, and CI/CD environments

  • Participate in change control, release management, and baseline governance within automated deployment pipelines

  • Support audit preparation and execution, including evidence generation from automated systems and configuration repositories

  • Provide guidance and coaching to engineers, system owners, and technical teams on modern CM practices

  • Leverage CMDB, ITSM, and infrastructure-as-code platforms to improve configuration visibility and control

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual CM processes through automation, scripting, and AI-enabled analysis

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to embed CM discipline directly into system design and deployment workflows

  • Contribute to enterprise-wide efforts to modernize configuration governance at scale

Qualifications

Required Education & Years of Experience

  • A High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of relevant experience.
    OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
    OR
  • A Master's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of thirteen (13) years of relevant experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong background in configuration management within complex enterprise IT environments
  • Working knowledge of change control, baselines, configuration tracking, and system lifecycle governance
  • Experience supporting federal compliance environments (FISMA or similar frameworks)
  • Familiarity with modern deployment models (cloud, virtualized, containerized environments)
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps workflows, and infrastructure-as-code concepts
  • Ability to translate CM principles into technically evolving environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Highly Desired

  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GovCloud, or hybrid enterprise models)
  • Experience with tools such as ServiceNow CMDB, Git-based repositories, automation frameworks, or deployment orchestration platforms
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience integrating CM into automated deployment workflows
  • Exposure to AI-enabled analytics or automation tools supporting compliance or configuration tracking
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise digital transformation initiatives

What We Value

  • A modern thinker who understands that configuration management must evolve with technology
  • A practitioner who can coach technical teams while maintaining governance rigor
  • Someone who sees automation and AI as enablers, not threats
  • A professional who balances discipline with innovation
