As a key member of the design team, you will integrate networking and security into a unified framework, ensuring that our edge-to-cloud connectivity is both resilient and security-minded333. You will work with cutting-edge technology, evaluating the SD-WAN vendor ecosystem to redefine the future of our network perimeter.

What you'll be doing...

  • Architecture Development: Developing and defining the enterprise-wide SD-WAN architecture, ensuring seamless access from retail and office locations to data centers.

  • Solution Design: Leading the design and planning of SD-WAN solutions (Versa or Cisco or Juniper or Velo, etc.) that integrate with SSE (Security Service Edge) and cloud-delivered security services.

  • Security Collaboration: Collaborating with security and cloud teams to integrate security policies across all edge locations.

  • Standards & Roadmap: Defining technical standards, roadmaps, and best practices for SD-WAN deployment, focusing on scalability and performance for retail environments.

  • Design Documentation: Building Low Level Design (LLD) diagrams and clearly communicate design goals to implementation teams.

  • Transformation Oversight: Providing architectural oversight for global network transformation initiatives, specifically focusing on edge-to-core connectivity.

  • Vendor Evaluation: Evaluating and recommending SD-WAN vendors and technologies, ensuring they meet enterprise security and networking requirements.

  • Strategic Alignment: Partnering with IT leadership to align SD-WAN strategies with business objectives and digital transformation goals.

  • Vendor Relations: Building strong vendor relationships to drive feature enhancements that meet the company's specific edge-connectivity requirements.

  • Migration Strategy: Developing implementation plans and migration strategies for transitioning legacy branch offices to modern SD-WAN fabrics.

  • Validation & Testing: Leading proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and pilot projects to validate SD-WAN performance and security capabilities.

  • Technical Leadership: Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring the solution remains effective against emerging threats.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

  • Experience in Enterprise Network Architecture and security.

  • Experience in Routing Protocols such as BGP & OSPF.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience in large-scale retail environments with complex security and high-density networking requirements.

  • Extensive experience in IPSec.

  • Strong Knowledge of Wi-Fi.

  • Prior experience leading digital transformation initiatives with a focus on edge security and cloud-delivered services.

  • Experience in new technology development and testing of SD-WAN features.

  • Strong expertise in SD-WAN frameworks, including deep knowledge of the current vendor ecosystem (e.g., Versa, Velocloud, or Silver Peak).

  • Hands-on experience with network security, firewalls, VPNs, and integrating SD-WAN with SSE/SASE providers.

  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native connectivity models.

  • Experience designing and implementing zero trust architectures at the network edge.

  • Strong understanding of industry security standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS benchmarks.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical designs to stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
