Verizon Global Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Unified Communications Security Engineer to be the primary security and implementation engineer of our enterprise contact center ecosystem. This role is dedicated exclusively to the Unified Communications security architecture, hardening, and threat mitigation of our Cisco UCCE, CVP, and Oracle SBC platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring that our 80k-agent contact center environment remains resilient against voice-specific threats, data breaches, and infrastructure vulnerabilities.

What you will be doing...

In this role, you will be the dedicated security execution lead for our contact center and unified communications environment. You will serve as the critical technical link between our VGI Security Infrastructure team and our UC Planning, Design, and Build teams.

  • Executing VGI Security Standards: Translating high-level security requirements and deadlines into technical configurations across Cisco UCCE, CVP, and Oracle SBC platforms set by the VGI Security Infrastructure team.

  • Implementing Infrastructure Hardening: Partnering with UC Design and Build teams to apply rigorous security hardening to Cisco UCS hardware, VMware layers, and Windows/SQL server instances, ensuring all new builds meet the security baseline.

  • SBC Security Configuration: Executing technical lockdowns of Oracle Session Border Controllers, including the implementing ACLs, SIP signaling encryption (TLS), and media security (SRTP).

  • Audit & Remediation Delivery: Managing the technical execution of vulnerability remediation by directly performing patches, firmware updates, and configuration changes across the ICM and CVP stack when risks are identified by the security team.

  • Certificate & Key Operations: Overseeing the the operational heavy lifting of managing, deploying, and renewing of SSL/TLS certificates across the UCCE solution to maintain encrypted communication paths.

  • Policy Enforcement: Working with the build teams to ensure that Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Least Privilege principles are physically implemented across all administrative interfaces and API endpoints.

  • Collaborative Troubleshooting: Acting as the security Subject Matter Expert (SME) during complex deployments, ensuring that "security" doesn't become a bottleneck for the Planning and Build teams, but rather a seamless part of the delivery process.

What we're looking for...

A disciplined, detail-oriented engineer who understands that in a massive 80k-agent environment, security and availability are two sides of the same coin. You don't just see a server; you see an attack surface that needs to be minimized. You are a bridge-builder who can speak "Security Policy" with the VGI team and "Implementation Reality" with the UC Build team. You thrive in complex, high-stakes environments where your work directly protects thousands of simultaneous customer interactions.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

  • Experience within the Cisco Contact Center Enterprise stack, specifically focusing on the security and hardening of ICM, CVP, and Finesse.

Even better if you have:

  • Security Certifications like CISSP or GSEC.

  • Experience using Python or PowerShell to automate security audits or bulk configuration changes across a large UCS footprint.

  • Familiarity with implementing security controls for PCI-DSS within a large-scale contact center media path.

  • Extensive Cisco UCCE/CVP Experience; including the hands-on engineering experience within the Cisco Contact Center Enterprise stack, specifically focusing on the security and hardening of ICM, CVP, and Finesse.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Oracle Session Border Controllers, including the ability to configure ACLs, HMRs, and secure SIP signaling (TLS/SRTP) at the carrier and subscriber edge.

  • Proven experience hardening Cisco UCS hardware, VMware ESXi hypervisors, and the underlying Windows/SQL Server application stack against industry-standard benchmarks (like CIS or DISA STIGs).

  • Mastery of VoIP/UC protocols including SIP, RTP/SRTP, TLS, and SNMPv3, with the ability to troubleshoot encrypted packet captures.

  • Experience managing the deployment and renewal of SSL/TLS certificates across a multi-node Cisco UCCE cluster.

  • A track record of working successfully with cross-functional teams, specifically experience taking requirements from a Security Operations/Infrastructure team and implementing them within a Design/Build workflow.

  • Experience using vulnerability management tools (such as Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7) to identify risks and the technical hands-on ability to perform the necessary patching and firmware updates.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every "even better" qualification listed above.
