What you'll be doing...

Verizon Global Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Enterprise Network Architect to lead planning and design of our enterprise-wide application delivery and naming services architecture. This role will play a crucial part in driving network transformation by integrating DNS, local load balancing, and global traffic management into a unified, high-availability framework.

You will work with application teams to design fault-tolerant and highly resilient solutions, ensuring that our core infrastructure supports best-in-class service delivery. You will work with cutting-edge technology, driving vendor roadmaps, and redefining the future of application resiliency and network performance.

  • Enterprise Architecture Design: Developing and defining enterprise-wide architecture for DNS, Citrix Load Balancing, and Global Service Load Balancing (GSLB), ensuring strict alignment with business availability objectives and , fault-tolerant designs.

  • Network Transformation: Providing architectural oversight for global network initiatives, driving cloud adoption, optimizing traffic management and representing the networking team in cross-functional design sessions to ensure infrastructure supports application requirements.

  • Strategic Planning: Defining technical standards, roadmaps, and best practices for naming services and load balancing to ensure high scalability and performance across the infrastructure.

  • Design & Innovation: Leading the design of highly resilient application delivery solutions and conduct Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to validate new capabilities.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration: Partnering with IT leadership and collaborate with application, security, and cloud teams to integrate total solution designs and align delivery strategies with digital transformation goals.

  • Vendor Management: Evaluating and recommending network vendors and technologies, ensuring they meet enterprise resiliency and performance requirements. Building strong vendor relationships to drive the enhancement of features/functionality to meet Verizon's specific technical needs.

  • Operational Excellence: Leading the creation of implementation plans and migration strategies to ensure minimal disruption to business operations while maintaining complete technical knowledge of the network.

  • Team Development: Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams and stakeholders, developing robust engineering standards and artifacts for certified products

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience in enterprise network architecture and application delivery.

  • Experience in New technology development and testing experience.

  • Experience in DNS (Infoblox/BIND), Citrix ADC (NetScaler), and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in Fortune 100 enterprise environments with complex, large-scale networking requirements.

  • Prior experience leading digital transformation initiatives with a focus on hybrid-cloud connectivity and application resiliency.

  • Hands-on experience with designing high-availability (HA) architectures and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.

  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native load balancing models.

  • Strong understanding of network protocols and industry standards (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, TLS).

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executives and application stakeholders.

  • Industry certifications such as CCIE, Citrix Certified Expert (CCE-N), or cloud-specific networking certifications are a plus.

  • Self-motivated, forward-thinking, and a strong collaborator.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $124,000.00 - $238,000.00.
