Description
Smith & Wesson is looking for an exceptional Director of IT - Enterprise Architecture with a passion for building strong enterprise applications and collaborating with data teams to report the metrics from these applications. This role will be reporting directly to the CIO and managing the software development requests of multiple departments with Smith & Wesson. As such, experience building applications to different user departments / functions is needed. We are looking for both a leader and team player that exceedingly inspires, strives to innovate, doesn't hold back in driving positive change, holds exceptionally high standards for themselves and those around them. This Director must have the capability to work seamlessly with our multi-site IT teams (both internal and contracted) and remote consultants.

Maryville, TN (in-office/non-remote)
Role & Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities of this role.
- Build home grown applications - Build custom ground up applications using .NET and C# frameworks.
- Build the data integrations between cloud systems and on-prem systems / ERP using standard API methodologies like SOAP, JSON etc.
- Manage the third-party cloud-based applications - Configuring the solutions using consulting partners, to meet the needs of the users
- Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation solutions like Blue Prism and coding standards in them is helpful
- Work closely with the Data management team to develop best practices for Data transfers, monitoring mechanisms and fail-safe architectures.
- Lead the applications team focused on delivering scalable and innovative solutions using Cloud applications as well as ground up built solutions. Good knowledge of mobile and web applications, using standard CI/CD procedures, in Azure DevOps or Git, in the .NET, C#, Python, Javascript (any flavor) as well as intelligent cloud-based systems is a must.
- Drive the adoption of agile software development practices, ensuring high-quality, continuous improvement and timely delivery of applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to understand their specific software and automation needs, translating these into actionable solutions.
- Work with offshore RPA team to get the deliverables completed and deployed to servers.
- Guide the team in delivering software in iterative releases, with a focus on continuous value and feedback from internal stakeholders.
- Lead software engineering teams responsible for development of highly visible and impactful mobile & web experiences and intelligent web/cloud applications
- Ensure best of breed agile software development practices are adhered to while continuing to evolve with the industry
- Work closely with BI team to develop roadmap and data strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals. Lead, mentor, and develop various tech teams (analysts, developers, data scientists).
- Establish policies for data quality, security, and usage, thereby building a strong Data Governance framework.
- Have good project management experience, so that user requests are sequenced and work load allocated to the global development team in a structured manner. Manage the development and maintenance of BI applications, data integrations with our various cloud products and market metrics / dashboards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to Partner with business leaders to identify needs and translate them into data solutions.
- Analysis & Insights: Guide quantitative and qualitative analysis to uncover opportunities and solve complex problems.
Core Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Engineering or a relevant field
- Experience: Significant management and technical experience in Software Dev, Enterprise Architecture, BI, data warehousing, and analytics.
- 10+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering teams for ground up development technologies on the .NET stack, front end JS stack
- 10+ years of experience in working closely with Data warehousing teams and experience in data movements
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages, database management, and data warehousing concepts.
- Understanding of SOX IT General Controls required
- Experience with agile software development processes (e.g. Scrum)
- Experience with Azure DevOps required
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Physical Demands:
- Works in an office environment.
- Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Travel: Some travel required (up to 10% within the US)
Work Environment:
- Normal office environment and office lighting.
- The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes vision, hearing, and footwear.
- Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting.
- All employees are required to apply ergonomic correctness to all job tasks.
