This is a temporary, hourly position to directly support research studies in the Corey Lab in the Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division (VIDD). The Research Intern will work closely with Drs. Joe Hou and Tao Peng with an ongoing study evaluating evaluating immune responses to HSV infection and with an ongoing study evaluating bulk RNA-seq data of primary keratinocytes and fibroblast cells isolated from individuals with asymptomatic and severe HSV-2 reactivation infection. This student will assist with data processing and analysis of immunologic and genomic datasets and will help members of the research team with data analysis to test novel hypotheses, sample tracking, data organization, and general research support activities.



Responsibilities

    Perform data entry, processing and analysis under Sr. Staff Scientists' directions
  • Write code for statistical analysis
  • Writing and review of manuscripts
  • Other duties as needed


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a current high-school student entering their senior year.
  • Applicants must have strong computer skills and willingness to learn new programs/software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent work ethic are required.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship at this time.
