Structural Engineering Intern

As part of the Worley Graduate Community and under close supervision and mentorship within the Structural Engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of engineering services to Worley and its customers. This internship offers a strong foundation for learning and professional growth through exposure to real-world projects and collaboration with experienced engineers and technical specialists.

You will have the opportunity to be involved across the full project lifecycle, including planning and conceptual design, detailed design, construction support, and operational phases of offshore Brownfield projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of structural engineering services in accordance with Worley standards, client requirements, and applicable regulatory and statutory guidelines, within agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Assist with structural engineering activities, including:

o Contributing to studies and analyses and supporting recommendations.

o Reviewing existing reports and available technical data.

o Assisting with the preparation of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.

  • Communicate effectively with the Structural Engineering team and broader project stakeholders.

  • Actively engage in learning opportunities, mentoring, and professional development activities.


What You Will Bring
Technical & Industry Experience

  • Foundational knowledge of structural engineering principles.
  • Basic understanding of the fundamental requirements of structural engineering and awareness of related engineering disciplines.
  • Developing capability in structural engineering software tools.
  • Competency with standard office software (e.g., MS Office).

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

  • Required: You must be enrolled at a recognized institution, have started a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering and be returning to study after your placement.
  • Preferred: Currently undertaking, or recently completed, a recognized engineering degree pathway that leads to registration as a Professional Engineer.
