This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of our Phoenix office.

Silicon Valley Bank's Global Fund Banking (GFB) Team provides commercial banking services to venture capital and private equity firms. The Portfolio Management team is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of loan advances and paydowns, loan maintenance requests, as well as compliance reporting documentation review.

The Sales Advisor plays a key role in driving deposit growth and delivering a seamless client experience. This position partners closely with Relationship Managers (RMs) and Relationship Advisors (RAs) to support deposit-only client onboarding, manage sales pipeline activity, and independently lead sales efforts for basic deposit and select non-core credit products. This individual serves as a bridge between clients, sales teams, and internal partners to ensure smooth onboarding, accurate pipeline tracking, and strong post-sale product adoption.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Client & Sales Support

    • Partner with RMs and RAs to onboard deposit-only clients from initial opportunity through account opening.
    • Lead and coordinate client account onboarding activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal processes.
    • Build, manage, and maintain the opportunity pipeline for deposit-only client onboarding to ensure visibility and alignment with sales goals.
    • Track progress, remove obstacles, and proactively communicate updates to stakeholders.

    Direct Sales & Client Engagement

    • Independently manage the sales process for basic deposit products and select non-core credit solutions.
    • Engage directly with clients to understand needs, present solutions, and guide them through account opening and product implementation.
    • Respond promptly to client inquiries and resolve issues with a high level of professionalism and service.
    • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships and expand product utilization.

    Go-to-Market Execution

    • Support execution of targeted sales goals through proactive pipeline management and activity tracking.
    • Prepare client-facing collateral, proposals, and documentation to support sales efforts.
    • Conduct post-sale follow-up to ensure a seamless client transition, successful onboarding, and strong product adoption.
    • Monitor onboarding progress and ensure accurate reporting within CRM or internal systems.

    Cross-Functional Partnership

    • Act as a key liaison between the sales team and internal partners (operations, treasury management, credit, compliance, etc.).
    • Coordinate implementation activities to ensure efficient and timely onboarding.
    • Escalate and resolve issues that could impact the client experience.
    • Continuously identify opportunities to improve onboarding workflows and client processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of experience in commercial banking, treasury management, deposit sales, or client onboarding OR High School/GED with 5 year of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of deposit products and basic credit solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain pipeline accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams while also operating independently.
