Application for PDCI Summer Camp Counselor

The PDCI Office Summer Camp Counselor supports the personnel, programs, and functions of the Inclusive Excellence and Community Engagement Office. The team strives to inform, guide, support, and serve all individuals seeking accessible, equitable, and quality education at the University of Cincinnati - College of Engineering and Applied Science. Students with an educational background are highly encouraged to apply.

General Tasks include:

  • Engineering concept instruction
  • Material and organizational assistance, including set up and clean up
  • Supervision of minors

Responsibilities include:

  • Greet and warmly welcome all visitors
  • Confidentiality with student information
  • Assisting with the daily, weekly, and monthly operations
  • Assisting with Programming
  • Typing correspondence and entering data/computing
  • Consistent and clear communication throughout scheduled shift with staff and supervisor
  • Being thorough and neat in using and storage of educational materials
  • Act as a liaison for the college with visiting engineering professionals, parents, and volunteers

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Current UC undergraduate or graduate student; with a minimum 2.0 GPA or above
  • Available to work 5 hours minimum and 40 hours maximum throughout the week during summer semester. Scheduling is built around students' class schedules. Availability to work occasional evenings highly sought after.
  • Reliable, friendly, and have a strong desire to work in a student-oriented educational capacity
  • Support FERPA confidentiality policy
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook)

  • Organizational skills
  • Event planning and support skills
  • Classroom management skills



As a UC student employee, and employee of an Ohio public institution, if hired you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system, other than contributions to Medicare. Instead, UC employees have the option to contribute to a state retirement plan (OPERS, STRS) or an alternative retirement plan (ARP).

If hired, you will be required to provide satisfactory proof of employment eligibility.
