Overview

APPOINTMENT TYPE: Full-Time Regular (FTR)

LOCATION: Oak Ridge, TN or Remote (hybrid preferred, but open to remote U.S. based locations based on skills and qualifications)

SALARY RANGE: $111,529.60 - $155,146.58

PURPOSE:

To serve as an Oracle applications database administrator (DBA), focusing on the configuration management, security and routine maintenance for the Oracle systems. Provide detailed analysis and troubleshooting support for all Oracle technical support analysts. Participate in lifecycle activities and change management such as upgrades, new technologies, changes required by the manufacturer, etc.



Responsibilities

    Primarily responsible for the systems configuration, management, and support of Oracle based systems including Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI). This includes regular maintenance, patches, and performance tuning as well as planning and implementing changes to the environments.
  • Assist in the systems configuration, management, and support of other Oracle environments such as Sunflower Property, Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), and other enterprise applications. This includes regular maintenance, patches, and performance tuning as well as planning and implementing changes to the environments.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolution of application-related problems such as framework errors, workflow errors, and application anomalies.
  • Assist in exploring new technologies related to application usage in conjunction with the Oracle support analysts.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of shell scripts for process automation.
  • Work with Management to plan and coordinate upcoming DBA projects and lifecycle activities.
  • Leads Quarterly Critical Patch Update review process for evaluating impact/probability of security fixes and implementing from test to production for any of the enterprise systems (EBS, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Sunflower, RMAN, OEM).
  • Participate and contribute to development and implementation plans for business continuity and disaster recovery functions for Oracle products. This includes providing reliable, recoverable and scalable databases/computing environments to store and integrate all Oracle Applications company data.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Corporate Business Applications (CBA) team for all Oracle environments.
  • Work closely with relevant systems administrators responsible for the hardware platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field 5-8 years of job-related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience performing duties as described may be substituted for the minimum requirements.

  • Experience with Oracle Applications (eBusiness Suite) Administration.
  • Must be able to apply application and database patches.
  • Experience with troubleshooting application performance or errors.
  • Experience investigating new technologies within the middle-tier environment(s).
  • Experience working with Oracle Technical Support (My Oracle Support) or similar online support structure.
  • Able to plan, document, and communicate setups and configurations of new and existing technology.
  • Must have extensive experience in installing, cloning, patching and upgrading Oracle Database based applications.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Oracle Applications technologies.
  • Should have a good understanding of toolsets used in administration and configuration of Oracle systems.
  • Must have experience in Linux/Unix environments.

*The candidate's starting salary will be determined upon hire and ORAU will use salary survey data, internal comparators, and the candidate's qualifications to determine salary.
