Scope: Wastewater Treatment (WWT) Technicians process manufacturing rinse waters and plating waste in accordance with RCRA regulations and parameters established by the Littleton/Englewood industrial wastewater discharge permit. The WWT Lead is accountable for ensuring the WWT area meets the daily needs of the site. The Lead WWT Technician must proactively communicate with all members of the management and operations teams to ensure a timely, accurate flow of information about the performance of areas and employees under their guidance. They must be able to work with close to minimal supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operation and maintenance of WWT Ion Exchange System (IX). Build chemical solutions for IX system regenerations and influent water pH adjustment.
  • Operation of metal removal ion exchange system for precious metal reclaim.
  • Monitoring of WWT equipment performance using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AA).
  • Change out of ion exchange resin on precious metal reclaim or IX systems.
  • Batch precipitation, pH adjustment and filtration of plating waste.
  • Batch press operation, cleaning and filter cloth replacement.
  • Receiving and storage of waste treatment process chemicals.
  • Proper handling of hazardous waste per RCRA regulations and as outlined in departmental work instructions.
  • Preparation of waste for shipment, according to RCRA and DOT regulations (labeling, manifests, etc.).
  • Preventive Maintenance - calibration of Signet pH sensor, pneumatic pumps, magnetic drive pumps, metering pumps.
  • Inspection of wastewater collection system, tanks and sumps.
  • Maintenance of a clean work environment including chemical spill cleanups and general housekeeping throughout factory.
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) and deionized water (DI) filter bottle maintenance and checklist evaluation.
  • Use of material handling drum dollies and equipment for chemical drum storage and waste management.
  • Ability to follow directions and perform various task requirements as needed in the successful management of TTM's EHS Management Program as directed by EHS management including TTM employee adherence to PPE, safety and environmental policies.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to WWT Team technicians:
  • Possess a strong command of WWT work instructions and responsibilities to provide daily guidance to WWT Team.
  • Provide ongoing training to develop WWT Team technicians in their roles.
  • Provide input to supervisor for employee evaluations, coaching, and recognition activities.
  • Mentor and train new hires.
  • Monitor employee adherence to company policies.
  • Work with supervisor to continuously improve upon departmental communication and goals.

Other leadership responsibilities:

  • Daily, weekly and monthly facility equipment inspections.
  • Clean and perform maintenance on Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AA).
  • Set up and complete monthly and quarterly water monitoring events. Relinquish sample collection for shipment to an outside laboratory to maintain wastewater discharge compliance.
  • Analysis of precious and non-precious metal solutions.
  • Inventory reclaim metals including weighing and labeling for shipment.
  • Inventory WWT chemicals, supplies and facility PPE.
  • Management of tasks including operator's log, labeling, manifests, materials requisition.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to communicate fluently (read, write, and speak) in English

  • Ability to understand and follow all safety codes and policies including proper use of PPE.
  • Familiarity with water and/or wastewater treatment methods and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the role:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in noisy environment (hearing protection provided)
  • Ability to work in chemical environments.
  • Ability to stand on feet for 8 hours.
  • Meet all safety requirements for performing duties.

Education and Experience:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Experience

Required Experience

  • 3+ years related work experience.
  • Wastewater treatment (WWT) experience required.

Preferred Experience

  • WWT experience in a printed circuit board manufacturing environment helpful. Certifications or licenses in waste treatment or handling of hazardous waste a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefit options include medical, dental, vision, 401k, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accident benefits, life insurance, disability benefits, paid vacation & holidays. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$71,701 - $119,502

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
