Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services' experts create solutions customized to the client's needs.

Summary:

The Social Media Communication Specialist III will proactively create content for various social media platforms; track and evaluate reach and engagement of the social media content created.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage day to day implementation of CDC's vaccine safety (VS) social media content and topics.
  • Grow CDC's social media followers and engagement related to VS. Develop a marketing plan with goals to help grow the social media conversation over time.
  • Conducts research on current digital communication materials and methods, especially for social media.
  • Proactively create messages and materials that promote VS; review messages regularly and implement changes based on formative research that may inform messages and materials.
  • Cross-communication with other Divisions and Centers, especially other social media coordinators, to ensure collaboration and consistency of messages regarding vaccine topics and improving awareness and trust on vaccine safety issues.
  • Attend all VS-related coordination meetings and team building activities.
  • Assist with the review and clearances of materials related to CDC VS issues.
  • Proactively identify for VS communications gaps, tasks, or communications needs of other VS-involved divisions; proactively plan and between government VS announcements and emergency responses.
  • Under the guidance of the DHQP Communications Team, collaborate with colleagues to conduct large-scale promotions and other outreach activities.
  • Proactively identify, research, and resolve problems or issues; participate in team strategy session to discuss solutions. Proactively recommend updated strategies to improve analysis tactics and outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including planning, logistics, and follow up activities.
  • Provide logistical support at approved conferences and meetings in relations to communications and VS activities.
  • Attend CDC approved trainings required to learn new CDC government systems to complete required tasks.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based public health environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field.

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000.
