Position Summary
The Social/Clinical Research Specialist will serve as the Study Coordinator supporting NC PAL and NC MATTERS operations in the UNC Department of Psychiatry. They will be responsible for a variety of support tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assist with research, lit reviews, and other administrative tasks related to the preparation of educational materials.
  • Clean, gather, edit, and analyze research data from NC PAL and NC MATTERS operations.
  • Create and/or enter data into Microsoft Excel, REDCap or other electronic databases.
  • Support data monitoring and data reporting activities for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in data analysis and manuscript writing.
  • Participate in the development of research tools.
  • Manage and maintain the NC MATTERS website.
  • Administrative support for NC MATTERS Fellowship training events and meetings.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences

  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods (e.g., SPSS) and data management with experience utilizing REDCap or other electronic databases.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to produce professional correspondence, presentations and other communication pieces.
  • Experience in research methods and best practices.
  • Experience with website maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
