This position is not remote/hybrid and will report to our location at 4220 Broadway St Oakland, CA. 94611.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Project Management & Communication

  • Manage, prioritize, and complete assigned projects and revisions efficiently.
  • Deliver strong customer service and communication via phone, email, and virtual meetings.
  • Organize and back up all project files and special requests.

Photo Imaging & Color Application

  • Complete photo imaging projects and color revisions based on customer direction.
  • Apply color accurately and maintain high image quality and throughput.
  • Ensure accurate representation of Sherwin-Williams colors and apply techniques to improve consistency and quality (lighting adjustments, cropping, cleanup).
  • Download and refine photographs, drawings, and assets to create high-quality color tools.
  • Apply commercial color knowledge to project specifications.
  • Assist the manager in overseeing external resources.

Production Projects (Custom & Ready-To-Go)

  • Coordinate, duplicate, and manage production projects at high throughput.
  • Create custom layouts or templates when needed.
  • Process and approve pricing quotes for Independent Contractors.
  • Collaborate with the manager on color palette development.
  • Prepare and enhance assets (photos, logos, etc.) for use in approved templates to produce high-quality color tools.
  • Work with Marketing, Product Info, and Legal on product descriptions, color data, disclaimers, translations, logos, and branding standards.
  • Proofread all printed color project copy.
  • Assemble and prepare projects with high craftsmanship.

Special Projects

  • Support artwork, graphics, and market appropriate content development.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial color trends and select colors suited to regional, historical, or market-specific needs.

Promotion of CM&D Services

  • Professionally present and promote CM&D services when requested.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside vendors.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design or related field

Preferred:

  • Graphic Design, Interior Design

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Microsoft Office
  • All relevant applications/software
  • Displays high level of craftsmanship for cut-and-paste applications

Preferred:

  • Preferred: 2+ years of design or marketing experience
  • Knowledge of Sherwin Color system

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Ability to interface with Microsoft programs including but not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Accuracy in selecting and applying color.
  • Accuracy in proofreading.
  • Time Management.
  • Team Skills.
  • Communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must be able to work effectively with time sensitive and demanding projects and take direction from multiple sources while delivering high quality, creative materials.
  • Requires high level of technical competence and ability to execute creative solutions provided by Senior Designers and/or Director.
  • Must be able to adapt to new technology to further enhance and improve creative material and individual skill level.
