Job Description

IDS is seeking an experienced Chemical and Nuclear Surety Lead to provide subject matter expertise in chemical and nuclear surety, safety, and compliance activities across defense-related programs. This role involves coordinating with high-level stakeholders, overseeing complex surety-related initiatives, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, guidance, and operational requirements. The Chemical and Nuclear Surety Lead will advise leadership, manage multi-stakeholder efforts, and ensure programs adhere to established chemical and nuclear surety standards.

Key Duties

* Coordinate and collaborate with Service Staff, Joint Staff (JS), and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) organizations on chemical and nuclear surety matters.
* Provide expertise in chemical or nuclear surety inspection and compliance (I&C) at both guidance and operational levels.
* Plan, direct, and manage complex projects involving multiple points of contact, ensuring alignment with mission and regulatory requirements.
* Serve as a technical advisor for policies, procedures, and implementation related to chemical and nuclear surety programs.
* Develop documentation, briefings, and reporting materials to support senior leadership decision-making.
* Support risk assessments, compliance reviews, and readiness evaluations.
* Ensure all program activities align with applicable safety, security, and surety regulations.
* Provide consultative guidance to internal teams and external partners on surety standards and operational impacts.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, technical, management, or a related discipline.
* 5-10 years of experience:
* Engaging directly with Service Staff, JS, and OSD organizations.
* Working chemical or nuclear surety inspection and compliance issues at a guidance or operational level.
* Planning, directing, and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and touchpoints.
* SECRET clearance required.
