This position has the ability to be remote across the United States. Overview The Medical Information Liaison Genomics I provides education and clinical support across all tumor genomic products to internal and external clients. Occasional travel may be required in support of client education, outreach, training, or other corporate-related activities. Responsibility
- Client Support:
- Interacts with healthcare providers and patients regarding all aspects of genomic tumor testing, including product information, risk assessment, interpretation of results, medical management, sample submission and laboratory procedure.
- Assists in the creation, editing and review of training material, marketing collateral, website content, SOPs and other written material for internal and external communications.
- Clinical Knowledge:
- Maintains current state of the art clinical knowledge for MGL tumor genomics products supported by Medical Services.
- Understands major data sources and critically evaluates (journal articles, published reports, clinical trials, MGL internal data etc.) relative to the use of Myriad's tumor genomics products.
- Maintains Continuing Education requirements for relevant certifications/licenses.
- Internal Support:
- Develops and presents training to corporate based staff to enhance their understanding of Myriad's tumor genomics products.
- Provides clinical support to inter-departmental teams and projects.
- Provides a clinical voice and strong scientific resource to product and corporate initiatives.
- Provides medical case review to ensure proper processing, appropriate test selection, and test result accuracy.
- Administrative:
- Manages time and expense budget.
- Accurately documents client interactions and assesses the need for communication with Medical Science Liaisons and Commercial teams.
- Keeps up to date on all SOP tasks and maintains a high level of understanding of internal processes and protocols.
- Accesses and updates all relevant databases in an appropriate and effective manner.
- Organizational Interaction:
- Participates in new product development and marketing programs as needed.
- Interacts with other departments within Myriad (i.e., Sales, Marketing, Managed Care, Operations, Technical Development) as a clinical resource in the educational and scientific support to benefit the patient and future development of the company.
- Supports international clients and international Myriad teams through test processing while ensuring we are compliant with international regulatory agencies.
- Leadership:
- Active member of the Medical Services community through best practice sharing, participation in meetings and coaching programs.
- Establishes and maintains relationships within the oncology and medical genetics community.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree required: (i.e. APP, PA, NP, MS, PhD) in relevant scientific and clinical disciplines.
- Maintain current board certifications and/or licenses.
- Demonstrate advanced training and/or experience in clinical oncology.
- Understand tumor genomics and genetic testing, including the application of this information in patient care.
- Professional and detail oriented.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with general oncologic pharmacology preferred.
Physical Requirements Lifting Requirements - sedentary to light work or exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, and observing. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions. OSHA category III - normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue and as part of the employment, will not be called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.
