Job Description
- Performs a variety of independent, specialized business associate duties for the Office of Sponsored Programs
- Executes, documents and reports on business and fiscal operations
- Understands how the team integrates with others to accomplish team objectives
- Researches and analyses atypical/complex data, collects data, and prepares analyses/reports (e.g., data, budget, billing, purchasing), as assigned
- Solves routine and complex problems and identifies new, less obvious solutions
- Impacts the quality, timeliness and effectiveness of the team through planning, organization, coordination, and occasional oversight
- Explains information to and within the team, noting improvements, efficiencies, anomalies, etc. to manager/supervisor and/or appropriate team member
- Serves as a liaison inside and outside the team when resolving routine and complex matters
- Assist existing pre-award staff with daily duties including submitting proposals to external sponsors, entering proposal data in PeopleSoft, creating the PSRS, assisting with the administering or sponsored agreements, assisting with the administering of subawards, etc.
- Communicate award information to Principal investigators and department chairs
- This individual will be responsible for entering, updating and maintaining files in Perceptive Content
- Keep abreast of new developments in university policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance and value in providing exceptional customer service to all stakeholders
- Manage multiple, shifting priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Acquire, maintain, and interpret up-to-date knowledge of funding submission modes, mechanisms and deadlines
- Sets priorities in accordance with team needs
- May serve as an informal resource/mentor and/or provide supervision for less experienced team members
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with research administration
- Possesses a broad understanding of the job and financial and/or accounting responsibilities
- Applies skills and knowledge in a variety of processes, procedures and systems that impact business and fiscal operations/units
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.87-$22.00 an hour. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
