The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) is home to nationally recognized programs focused on health and wellness - and a respected faculty dedicated to teaching innovations and research partnerships. The college offers accredited programs in athletic training, communication sciences and disorders, physical therapy, and social work. CHPS also offers one of UCF's largest majors, health sciences, as well as popular programs in sport and exercise science within the field of kinesiology. Through coursework, field experience, and interprofessional education, our students develop high-demand skills in healthcare and cultural competency for working with varied populations.

The Opportunity:

UCF's College of Health Professions and Sciences is currently accepting applications for an Admissions Specialist I. This position will provide support to the Master's of Social Work (MSW) program staff. This role assists with admissions, applicant follow-up, recruiting, orientation, and retention activities. The Admissions Specialist I also provides support to the Bachelor's of Social Work (BSW) program as needed, and contributes to program operations, such as bookstore coordination. In addition, this position also helps create recruitment materials for social media and other platforms and contributes to a variety of department initiatives.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide support to MSW program staff and assist with recruiting, admission, orientation, and retention activities and initiatives for the Online and campus based MSW tracks.

  • Provide similar support to the BSW program as requested.

  • Assist the MSW Admissions Specialist with responding to prospective student inquiries, contacting applicants for outstanding items and preparing applications for review.

  • Assist with bookstore communication, catalog and handbook updates, and revisions for the MSW program when requested.

  • Prepare recruitment materials to share on social media and other platforms.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivering high-quality customer service.

  • Experience in student services within a higher education setting.

  • Demonstrated background in recruitment, community engagement, or outreach.

  • Proficiency with SLATE or comparable CRM platforms, with the ability to navigate, track, and manage data effectively.

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. -Strong ability to collaborate effectively in a teamoriented environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage with others, fostering positive interactions.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:


  • The anticipated hourly range for this position is $15.66- $18.79. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

  • This is an Auxiliary (AUX) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

  • Applicant must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
