Location: Mary Bridge Children's Safe and Sound Building - MultiCare

Position Summary

The Polysomnographic Technologist/Scorer is responsible for the safe operation of sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology and performing diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnography in accordance with physician orders and organizational policies and procedures.

This is a technical position functioning independently with limited supervision. Work situations require extensive knowledge and the application of advanced expertise in the field of sleep disorders, and sound clinical judgements, actions, and decision making regarding unusual patient behavior, i.e. seizure activity, life threatening cardiac and respiratory abnormalities. Internal contacts are basically within the work group but may include patient care staff and management throughout the Medical Center. This position has external contacts with physicians as well as extensive direct patient care and patient contact on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Polysomnographic training or Respiratory Therapy training or EEG Technology; or Bachelor's degree in health-related science or psychology; or combination of education and experience in a related field
  • Boarded by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
  • One year of polysomnographic technology experience required
  • One year of scoring experience required
  • CPR Certification

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $39.94 - $63.59 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
