Position Overview

Worley is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Field Engineer will play a crucial role in providing construction site engineering expertise and resources during the construction phases of various projects. This role involves interpreting designs, making adjustments to meet site conditions, overseeing construction supervision, and ultimately providing final approval of completed construction tasks to ensure alignment with design specifications. Complex or challenging matters may be referred to more senior authority.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret and analyze engineering designs, blueprints, and specifications to ensure feasibility and compliance with project requirements.

Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution.

Provide on-site technical expertise and resources during construction phases, addressing any design modifications or adjustments required to meet site conditions.

Oversee construction supervision activities, ensuring that work is carried out according to approved plans and specifications.

Make independent technical decisions for small independent projects and studies, considering financial, social, and environmental impacts within the company.

Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks of completed construction tasks to ensure they align with design specifications and meet high-quality standards.

Participate in regular project meetings to provide updates on construction progress, address technical issues, and offer solutions to challenges.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient coordination of construction activities, resource allocation, and timely project completion.

Maintain accurate documentation of construction activities, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.

Identify potential risks or issues that could impact project timelines or deliverables and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Participate in the continuous improvement of construction processes, procedures, and standards within the company.

Support more junior team members by sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and promoting professional development.

Qualifications and Experience

University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or equivalent trade qualification combined with further relevant training and experience.

Proven experience in a Field Engineer or similar role, preferably in the I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) or Mechanical discipline.

Strong understanding of construction principles, techniques, and best practices.

Proficiency in interpreting engineering designs, blueprints, and specifications.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent technical decisions.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.

Knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to construction projects.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across disciplines.

Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy of work.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to travel to construction sites as required.

Familiarity with project management software tools is an advantage.
