Under the administrative direction of the Director of the Alcohol Research Center, The Program Assistant will perform professional duties related to daily functions of the of UIC Alcohol Research Center that involves coordinating research, trainings, and educational activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides administrative and programmatic support to a director, administrator or other research staff, serving as a staff liaison, performs professional support tasks, and assists with budget functions as necessary.
  • Provides program knowledge and organizes educational activities for the alcohol research center such as flyer preparation, distribution, and provides operational support to presenters.
  • Compiles and analyzes data and information, evaluates, and summarizes research findings that are provided by the research staff. Maintain, organize, and store experimental research data in the assigned electronic space as well as in file folders.
  • Represents the Alcohol Research Center on various committees, and acts as a liaison by facilitating communication between the center, department, and Campus as it relates to activities of the center.
  • Assists with scheduling and coordinating the center's related activities and provides workflow recommendations to ensure efficient operations.
  • Promote educational and outreach programs of the Alcohol Research Center by developing and advertising infographics for all Alcohol Research Center activities.
  • Perform additional work related to center activities as needed, such as organization of retreat for the center and preparation of progress reports.


Minimum Qualifications Required:
  1. Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of direct project management experience.
  • General knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
