Transportation Procurement Specialist

This role reports to the Sr. Director of Transportation and is responsible for over-the-road (OTR) transportation operations, routine processes, KPIs, continuous improvement, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis. The ideal individual will have potential to grow into a leadership position at a stable company in Keefe. This role will provide a broad introduction to many functions and people throughout the organization.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Handle daily escalations related to OTR transportation service and cost, including managing relationship with 3PL and parcel vendors.
• Lead implementation of annual truckload (TL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) RFQ.
• Lead bi-weekly Transportation & Operations (T&OP) meeting with Supply Chain and Procurement leadership.
• Lead periodic analysis to identify and address highest spend lanes by Cost per Hundredweight (CwT).
• Routine communication with Operations and Sales leadership to implement cost savings opportunities while improving service.
• Prepare weekly KPI and monthly savings initiative reporting.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed.
• Prepare SOPs for new processes implemented by the role.
• Maintain critical transportation and distribution master data.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Purchasing Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of CPG Supply Chain standards and fundamentals.
• Experience with multi-modal transportation including truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, parcel, and dedicated fleet.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively and work collaboratively with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
• Excellent communication skills-must be able to adapt style/presentation to effectively communicate to both line employees and senior leaders.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience using Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and strong computer literacy.
• Proven negotiation and time management skills; ability to support cost-saving initiatives.
• Strong planning, research, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Effective communication skills-able to present ideas clearly, listen actively, and collaborate across teams.
• Ability to think strategically while assisting in solving day-to-day challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to follow systematic methods and maintain accuracy in work.
• Adaptable to change and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills - define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to work well with diverse personalities and build positive working relationships.
