SUMMARY:
Reports to the Associate Physicist in charge of QA and second year Physics Resident.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs clinical, patient dosimetry to verify and assure that patient is receiving precisely the prescribed dose.
Measures radiation dose, using an array detector, film or ion chamber.
Assists Physicists in the collection of patient treatment specific IMRT QA.
Operates Linac under supervision of Radiation Oncology Physicists.
Assists with machine QA as needed.
Works after clinical hours of operation.
Participate in physics related aspects of research projects performing such technical duties as setting up equipment, taking measurements and recording data, as assigned
Attends meetings and conferences and reads current scientific literature to maintain and enhance professional expertise
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic Knowledge:
Bachelor's Degree in physics, or related science or enrolled in undergraduate physics program.
Interpersonal skills to consult with other staff members
Analytical and advanced numerical skills to perform complex calculations and to evaluate and resolve data discrepancies
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Exposed to low level of ionizing radiation while handling radioactive substances.
Wears radiation monitor to monitor exposure.
Supervisory Responsibility: None

Pay Range:

$19.03-$31.39
