SUMMARY:

The Nursing Education Partner reports to the Director of Center Professional Practice &Innovation. Participates in staff development, new graduate orientation and evaluation of professional development programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews orientation rosters in collaboration with the Clinical Educator and the Education Coordinator to anticipate needs, supplies, and equipment for weekly nursing orientation.
Ensures orientation materials are prepared and available for use.
Reviews orientation records for attendees to ensure completion.
Follows up directly with employee or leadership to communicate any concerns regarding missing documents, and to ensure plan for completion.
Prepares and sets up space utilized for orientation prior to new employee arrival. Ensures cleanliness and aseptic condition of room and equipment.
Receives and greets new employees, provides Welcome to Orientation, and explains agenda for the onboarding time frame.
Communicates with new employee, CPPI staff and leadership as needed to promote optimal experience for new employee.
Promotes and maintains an environment conducive to new employee safety and comfort.
Assists to maintain flow throughout all orientation sessions. Ensures area is maintained in neat, clean and organized manner before and following each session.
Monitors inventory levels to ensure availability of necessary supplies, equipment and instruments are on hand to meet anticipated needs during orientation. May perform routine quality checks on equipment to ensure readiness for use. Exercises proper care in the use of equipment and reports needed for repair to the appropriate person. Operates computer terminal to access and enter information required for employees to complete orientation.
Participates in mandatory educational programs and in monthly department staff meetings to maintain skills and awareness of unit-specific practice issues.
Demonstrates adherence to Universal Precautions, Safety Programs and other infection control measures.
Participates in appropriate staff education programs to maintain and expand job knowledge and skills.
Serves as expert consultant for nursing faculty, students, staff, leadership and other departments on system-wide basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and sensitivity to cultural diversity in each step of the care process.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years' relevant clinical experience with demonstrated leadership, teaching and communication skills. Experience should exhibit an exceptional level of written and oral communication skill.
The ability to conceptualize, develop, and effect quality nursing services with a commitment to continuous quality improvement is essential.
Strong interpersonal/negotiation/mediation skills and demonstrated effective leadership in an environment with culturally diverse needs and abilities of staff.
Maintains clinical competency in order to understand processes and identify barriers to improve the quality of patient care.
Develops and maintains expertise in the field to address questions and provide strategic direction for quality.
SUPERVISION:
Shared supervisory responsibility with Assistant Clinical Managers and Clinical Managers.

Pay Range:

$41.77-$83.53
