SEP Coordinator

Life Cycle Engineering is seeking a proactive, self-motivated SEP Coordinator to support the configuration management, maintenance, documentation, and quality control, delivery and install efforts of software for all Navy class ships. The selected candidate will be interfacing with U.S. Navy civilian software and systems engineers, support contractors, quality control engineers, U.S. Navy ships force, OEMs, and program management. They will contribute to the following aspects of the software life cycle including but not limited to requirements, documentation, deployment, audit, support, and maintenance. The SEP Coordinator will be expected to complete assigned tasking to meet deadlines. They will be tasked by and report to technical leads within the Navy program and will be expected to identify, manage, and maintain configuration deltas among all Navy Class ships; coordinate and lead meetings and peer reviews; prepare technical documentation in support of software deliveries; and present deliverables during quality assurance audits.

The SEP Coordinator will be expected to provide documented status updates and work with the program manager to develop software delivery schedules and determine software requirements for ships. They must be detail oriented, an effective communicator, and exemplify flexibility to meet mission requirements in a dynamic work environment.

Contract Requirements:



  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Must have a valid US passport or the ability to obtain one upon position acceptance


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



  • Prepare, maintain and manage Software Requirements
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of the cybersecurity, monitoring & information systems associated with Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Control & Network Systems.
  • Write, review, maintain and configuration manage requirements, design, tools and test procedures and system plans, product specifications, training material and other documentation for software and supporting products
  • Work with Atlassian Suite (JIRA/Confluence), Microsoft Office and version control products
  • Identify, document and track problems associated with cybersecurity, monitoring & information systems
  • Lead and moderate peer reviews
  • Participate and conduct quarterly program, ready to test, delivery and other related audits
  • Participate in special projects as required


Required Education, Skills, and Experience:



  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a Configuration Manager
  • Experience coordinating and leading meetings
  • Experience communicating status, risks, problems, and formulating effective solutions
  • Experience with requirements creation and management
  • Experience with configuring test events in accordance with requirements
  • Experience working in software development environment


Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Proficiency with software configuration management, specifically as it relates to libraries of multiple software baselines, version control, tracking unique updates to software builds, and conducting diffs of source code
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Project)
  • Proficiency with JIRA/Confluence
  • Proficiency with technical writing with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and meticulous logging of ship and software configurations
  • Ability to prioritize tasking and manage time effectively
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines without incurring undue risk or degraded quality
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Experience with risk management
  • Familiarity with thee Waterfall or Agile development life cycles
  • Familiarity and experience working at CMMI Level 3 or higher


Physical Demands and Expectations:



  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • The work is typically performed in an office environment. Additional work may be performed onboard US Navy Ships (pier side and at sea), which requires proper safety precautions and ability to go up and down shipboard stairways (ladders); work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
