The Sr. Material Planning Specialist, reporting to the Senior Manager - Material Planning, serves as a key leader in driving material readiness and operational performance across assigned engine platforms. This position provides advanced planning expertise, strategic oversight, and cross-functional leadership to ensure optimal material availability in support of engine maintenance programs. The Senior Specialist is responsible for developing long-range material strategies, improving cost efficiency, enhancing forecasting accuracy, and aligning material readiness with production objectives and customer commitments.
In this senior-level role, the individual mentors junior planners, leads complex planning initiatives, and partners closely with repair, procurement, logistics, and operations teams to maximize engine throughput and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of material plans to support both short- and long-term engine maintenance schedules
* Provide advanced forecasting, scenario modeling, and capacity planning to anticipate risks and optimize inventory strategies
* Partner with Procurement, Product Line Managers, and strategic suppliers to secure OEM, third party, and consigned materials in alignment with contractual requirements and demand forecasts
* Lead cross-functional coordination efforts to ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing and resolution of material constraints impacting engine programs
* Oversee planning data accuracy within ERP systems and ensure governance of material master records, planning parameters, and inventory controls
* Collaborate with logistics, warehouse operations, and repair teams to improve material flow, reduce lead times, and enhance inventory health
* Identify, lead, and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, inventory optimization, and planning process standardization
* Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for material planning tools, processes, and best practices; provide guidance and mentorship to Material Planning Specialists
* Support the development of long range material strategies aligned with enterprise goals and customer expectations


Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or a related field
* 5-7+ years of experience in material planning, inventory management, or supply chain functions, preferably within aviation or a highly regulated industry
* Strong expertise in OEM, third party, and consigned inventory management practices
* Proficiency with ERP systems and planning tools
* Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to work through complex supply chain challenges
* Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, lead initiatives, and meet critical deadlines


Preferred Qualifications
* Experience supporting aviation engine maintenance, MRO operations, or complex manufacturing programs
* Professional certification in supply chain or logistics (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP)
* Knowledge of international sourcing, logistics, and global supply chain operations
* Experience with lean principles, continuous improvement, and inventory optimization methodologies
